Tanned skin is something I always want to have during the summer. When I was in high school, I used to always sunbathe (I didn’t know how bad it was for your health!). Back in those days, I lived in the Philippines where beaches were so easy to access, so I’d lie on the beach under the heat of the sun. I’m just a fan of having tan skin! I think it’s attractive and looks healthy. However, now that I’m older, I’m afraid to expose my skin for too long under the sun. Sun exposure can can cause wrinkles, and have adverse effects like skin cancer. That’s why I’m so glad that I found out about JERGENS® Natural Glow products. They give your skin a natural tan without baking yourself under the sun. They’re a much better value and more effective compared to other high-end brands too! I also love that these products hydrate your skin, since they’re moisturizers as well. What a great combo! I grabbed some of their products at Walmart while doing some grocery shopping with my kids (High five for mommies who shop with little kids!).

By the way, you can save $3.00 on any 2 full size JERGENS® Natural Glow® Product (Offer excludes trial and travel sizes) when purchased together.

I thought of creating another tutorial for a simple, natural makeup look, to enhance my glowing tan. simple_summer_no_makeup_look_tan_skin_natural_glow_jergens_tutorial_emsmith_1

Here’s how to create this look:

  1. Moisturize your lips with lip balm.
  2. Apply moisturizer all over your face and neck. I’ve been using JERGENS® Natural Glow® FACE Daily Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 20 (this product is for incidental sun only) for the past few days to give my skin a tanned look, and to get ready for the summer. I skip the application on the brow area.
  3. Apply your favorite foundation. I prefer liquid or any lightweight finish foundation as it gives a more natural look on the skin, I do this using my fingers to blend. You may also use a beauty blender to press it onto your skin, and to make sure there are no patches.
  4. Apply concealer. Again, I love to use a liquid type of concealer for a natural finish.
  5. Pat down the concealer using your fingers to make sure it is blended well.
  6. Use a brow brush to groom your eyebrows before applying any products to them.
  7. Apply makeup for your brows. I use an eyebrow pencil that creates small strokes. Opt for a soft brow look instead of over-do or very defined brows. Some women who have fuller brows or don’t need to apply makeup to them may skip this step, but don’t forget to brush the brows for grooming.
  8. Curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara. TIP: If your mascara makes your lashes clumpy, dip the mascara container (lid closed) in a glass of warm water to soften up the dryness.
  9. Apply cream blush onto your cheeks by blending, using your fingers. Cream blushes stay longer and add a natural flash to your cheeks!
  10. Apply lip color. Opt for creamy texture (not too matte of a finish).
  11. Use bronzer (not a metallic or shimmery type) to warm up your face by applying it on side of the cheeks and forehead.
  12. Don’t forget to apply the bronzer on your neck too!
  13. TIP: Apply a little bit of bronzer under the eyes if you think your concealer is too light.

Of course if you want to have a facial tan, you’ll also need the rest of your body’s skin tone to match. I’m loving the finished outcome after using JERGENS® Natural Glow® Daily Moisturizer on my whole body. Before applying this product, I exfoliate my body using JERGENS® Natural Glow® Color Primer In-Shower Scrub while in the shower. This helps the glow moisturizer stay on the skin longer. It works well if you gradually apply it everyday. I got a noticeable tan in just 2 days. After 5 days I had even more of a tan! The more patient you are, the more tan you will get. 😉  I make sure that I pay attention to lessen applications on dry areas like my elbows and knees, and between my fingers and toes. After every application, I wash my hands with warm water and grab JERGENS®
scrub to make sure there aren’t any stains left on my palms. simple_summer_no_makeup_look_tan_skin_natural_glow_jergens_tutorial_emsmith_2

Have you already picked your skin tone from JERGENS® Natural Glow products? Mine is medium to tan :-)

Here are some of my old photos in the Philippines. See how beautiful my hometown is? You’ll fall in love!! Ahh I can’t wait to see you again! But I’m pretty sure I’ll have tanned skin whenever I go back because now, I can get a tan anytime I want!
